More Than Makeup

The beauty industry has long profited off queerness while erasing the people who live it. Transgender and non-binary folk have shaped makeup culture, yet are still excluded from its ads, shelves, and conversations.

Fenty Beauty set out to change that.

Because for many trans people, makeup isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s gender-affirming care. It’s how they recognize themselves in a world that often refuses to. And when visibility can mean safety, dignity, and survival, being seen is everything.

This campaign made that visibility loud and joyful. A live drag show gave trans beauty a spotlight in a world that keeps trying to dim it.

Makeup saves trans lives. And Fenty put that truth in the spotlight.

takeover

This campaign launches where reflection meets resistance:

the public bathroom mirror.

Placed in the heart of queer communities, we’re reclaiming spaces that have long been used to shame or surveil.

Often a source of dysphoria, the mirror is now a site of resistance and affirmation.

Each mirror becomes a message board of resilience.

Custom lip-shaped QR codes take you to More Than Makeup, a Fenty space full of stories, tools, and love for trans beauty and expression.
